The Art of Stock Scanning
The NASDAQ 100 Index components were added to the usual daily stock scan which produced 85 winners and 108 losers after the close on Friday.

In support of Chapter 7 of Own The Zone, I made a video to document my approach to stock scanning and how the stops generated by the trading system are used to set up Plan B swing trades with options.
The stock scan is designed to find stocks that may be starting a new leg of a directional move. The criteria incorporates price movement (just starting an up- or downswing), range (larger than average) and liquidity (500,000 shares on the day, 20-day average of 1.5 million).
